About Us

Since 2019, Awaken Recovery Foundation has served more than 200 women from across Maryland with substance use and co-occurring disorders, offering a supportive place to live and grow in recovery. Located in Cambridge, our certified recovery homes bring together structure, community, and practical support for everyday life. Our programs include peer support, transportation, employment assistance, financial education, nutrition and wellness, and creative opportunities such as Art Night.

Compassion, integrity, and communication guide our work. We recognize that every woman brings her own experiences, strengths, and goals. Our community offers encouragement and connection as women strengthen their recovery, build healthy relationships, and work toward the futures they envision for themselves.

Our Story

Founded in 2019, Awaken Recovery Foundation grew from a need for women’s recovery housing on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. We set out to create a community where women could find a safe home, shared understanding, and support through the everyday challenges of recovery. What began with that purpose has grown into four certified recovery homes. We continue to develop our programs around the needs of the women we serve, while holding close to the belief that inspired Awaken: women deserve stability, dignity, and a community that supports their recovery.
